SpaceX launches two Intelsat satellites
Posted: Sat, Oct 15, 2022, 11:08 AM ET (1508 GMT)
SpaceX launched a pair of Intelsat communications satellites Oct. 8. The Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 7:05 pm EDT (2305 GMT) after a Thursday launch attempt was scrubbed because of a helium leak and a Friday launch postponed. The rocket deployed the Galaxy 33 and Galaxy 34 satellites into geostationary transfer orbit about 40 minutes after liftoff. The satellites are part of Intelsat's C-band spectrum clearing efforts. The Falcon 9 first stage, on a record-tying 14th flight, landed on a droneship in the Atlantic.
