Iranian satellite reaches end of mission
Posted: Fri, Mar 20, 2009, 6:57 AM ET (1057 GMT) A small satellite that was the first launched into orbit by Iran has reached the end of its life, state media reported Thursday. The Omid satellite, launched on a Safir-2 rocket on February 3, completed its mission successfully this week. The small satellite carried a communications payload that sent and received signals, although reports did not go into further detail. The satellite is expected to deorbit in late April.
