Intuitive Machines delays lunar lander launch to January
Posted: Sat, Nov 4, 2023, 10:34 AM ET (1434 GMT)
Intuitive Machines has delayed its first lunar lander mission to January. The company announced Oct. 27 that its IM-1 mission, which was scheduled to launch on a Falcon 9 in mid-November, has been rescheduled for a multi-day window that opens Jan. 12. The company did not give a reason for the delay but had previously warned that "pad congestion" at Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A, the pad that will be used for the IM-1 launch, could delay the mission. IM-1 is carrying a set of payloads for NASA and other customers and will attempt a landing in the south polar region of the Moon.
