India launches navigation satellite
Posted: Sat, Jun 3, 2023, 11:07 AM ET (1507 GMT) India launched a navigation satellite Monday. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark 2 rocket lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 1:12 am EDT (0512 GMT) and deployed the NVS-01 satellite 19 minutes later in a geostationary transfer orbit. The satellite is the first second-generation satellite for India'a NavIC system that provides regional navigation services.
