Posted: Sat, Apr 29, 2023, 11:22 AM ET (1522 GMT)
SpaceX will take over a launch pad at Vandenberg that had been used by United Launch Alliance. The Space Force said it was assigning Space Launch Complex (SLC) 6 to SpaceX for use by the company's Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets. The service did not disclose when it expected SpaceX to take over SLC-6, which had been used by ULA for launches of its Delta 4 vehicles. ULA is consolidating its future Vandenberg launches at SLC-3, which will be used by Vulcan. SpaceX currently launches from Vandenberg's SLC-4. Space Force officials said recently there were "many interested parties" in taking over SLC-6.
