China launches classified satellites
Posted: Sat, Dec 4, 2021, 10:38 AM ET (1538 GMT) A Chinese small launch vehicle placed a classified satellite into orbit Nov. 24. The Kuaizhou-1A lifted off at 6:41 pm EST (2341 GMT) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and put the Shiyan-11 satellite into a sun-synchronous orbit. Chinese officials disclosed no details about the payload. On Nov. 26, a Long March 3B rocket launched the Chinasat-1D military communications satellite at 11:40 am EST (1640 GMT) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The satellite will provide C-band and UHF tactical military communications services.
