SpaceShipTwo ascent, July 2021 (Virgin Galactic) The FAA has cleared Virgin Galactic to resume SpaceShipTwo flights. The agency said late Wednesday it completed an investigation into an incident in the July flight of the suborbital spaceplane where the vehicle strayed from its assigned airspace as it descended. Virgin Galactic agreed to take measures such as expanding the restricted airspace for SpaceShipTwo flights and improving communications with FAA air traffic control. The next SpaceShipTwo flight is scheduled for no earlier than mid-October, and will be the last before an extended maintenance period expected to run through the middle of next year.
