Posted: Thu, Dec 31, 2020, 1:39 PM ET (1839 GMT)
Lockheed Martin will acquire Aerojet Rocketdyne in a $4.4 billion deal announced Dec. 20. Lockheed said the acquisition gives the company a larger footprint in space and hypersonic technology, specifically substantial expertise in propulsion. Aerojet produces the RS-25 and RL10 engines, and does extensive work in missiles. The companies said the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2021, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals.
