Weather postpones shuttle landing
Posted: Mon, Apr 19, 2010, 1:28 PM ET (1728 GMT)
STS-131: logo (NASA) The space shuttle Discovery will spend an extra day in orbit after clouds and rain scrubbed a planned landing Monday morning at the Kennedy Space Center. NASA hopes to land the shuttle at KSC during one of two opportunities Monday morning at 8:48 and 10:23 am EDT (1248 and 1423 GMT), but clouds and scattered rain forced controllers to keep the shuttle in orbit. NASA is hoping to land the shuttle tomorrow morning at KSC, with the first opportunity at 7:34 am EDT (1134 GMT). NASA will also call up Edwards Air Force Base in California as an alternate landing site should weather again keep the shuttle from landing at KSC.
