Sunday's scheduled launch of a communications satellite from Baikonur was postponed because of a technical problem. A Zenit-3SLB was scheduled to launch Sunday from the cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, carrying the Intelsat 15 satellite into orbit. However, the launch was scrubbed 3 hours and 14 minutes before launch because of an unspecified technical problem. No new launch date was immediately announced, although one report indicated the launch was postponed by 24 hours. The launch system, known as Land Launch, uses a vehicle similar to the Zenit-3SL flown by Sea Launch to place medium-sized satellites into orbit.
