STS-128: undocking (NASA) The space shuttle Discovery undocked from the International Space Station on Tuesday afternoon, having completed its mission to transfer cargo and perform other work at the station. Discovery undocked from the station at 3:26 pm EDT (1926 GMT) and departed the vicinity of the station after performing its usual flyaround of the ISS. During the STS-128 mission the shuttle delivered over 8,000 kilograms of cargo to the station and is returning with over 2,000 kilograms of trash and unneeded equipment. The mission also featured three spacewalks to perform miscellaneous work on the station and swapped out one member of the station's six-person crew. The shuttle is scheduled to launch at the Kennedy Space Center Thursday, with two landing opportunities at 7:05 pm and 8:42 pm EDT (2305 GMT Thursday and 0042 GMT Friday).
