Astronaut named new CSA president
Posted: Wed, Sep 3, 2008, 8:14 AM ET (1214 GMT) The Canadian government selected astronaut Steven MacLean as the new president of the Canadian Space Agency on Tuesday. MacLean was part of the original group of six Canadian astronauts selected in the early 1980s, and flew on two shuttle missions: STS-52 in 1992 and STS-115 in 2006; he became the second Canadian to walk in space on the latter mission. MacLean succeeds Guy Bujold, who had led the agency on an interim basis since the beginning of the year, after the sudden resignation of Larry Boisvert.
