SpaceX plans to recover both Starship stages on next flight

SpaceX says it plans to attempt to recover both Starship stages on the vehicle's next launch. The company said in an earnings call Tuesday that, pending approval from the FAA, it will attempt to bring the Starship upper stage, or ship, on the Flight 15 mission back to Starbase to be caught by the launch tower there. That would be a major milestone in the company's efforts to recover and reuse both Starship stages. Flight 15 is scheduled for November. During the earnings call, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that special board committees at both SpaceX and Tesla are exploring a possible merger of the two firms. Musk said that such a merger would be "a good idea" but noted he is excluded from the committees' discussions because of his roles at both companies.
