China launches Qianfan satellites

Long March 8 launch 2026 June 5 (Xinhua) A pair of Chinese launches deployed satellites for the Qianfan constellation. A Long March 6A lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 7:39 am EDT (1139 GMT) Thursday, followed by a Long March 8 at 2:34 am EDT (0634 GMT) Friday from the Wenchang spaceport. Each launch carried 18 Qianfan satellites, bringing the total satellites in orbit for the broadband constellation to more than 200.
