An Atlas 5 lifted off Tuesday morning on the rocket's final national security launch. The Atlas 5 551 lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 6:45 am EDT. The mission, designated USSF-51, carried a classified payload to geostationary orbit, with the Space Force confirming mission success about seven hours after liftoff. The launch is the 100th national security mission for United Launch Alliance but the final one for the Atlas 5, as ULA shifts to the new Vulcan rocket.
