Intelsat signs multi-launch agreement with Relativity Space
Posted: Sun, Oct 15, 2023, 10:39 AM ET (1439 GMT)
Intelsat has signed a multi-launch agreement with Relativity Space. The companies announced the deal Wednesday that covers an unspecified number of launches on Relativity's Terran R rocket in development, starting as soon as 2026. The companies suggested one reason for the deal was to secure access for future Intelsat spacecraft given strong demand for launch services that is outstripping supply. Relativity announced plans six months ago to proceed with development of the Terran R, a reusable vehicle similar in performance to the Falcon 9, after a single flight of its smaller Terran 1.
