Russia launches classified satellite
Posted: Sat, Apr 1, 2023, 11:35 AM ET (1535 GMT) Russia launched a classified satellite Wednesday. A Soyuz-2.1v rocket lifted off from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia at 3:57 pm EDT (1957 GMT), placing into sun-synchronous orbit a satellite designated Cosmos-2568. Russia did not disclose the purpose of the satellite, but there is speculation it could be an "inspector" satellite designed to monitor other spacecraft.
