Relativity scrubs first Terran 1 launch attempt
Posted: Sat, Mar 11, 2023, 11:22 AM ET (1622 GMT)
Relativity Space scrubbed its first attempt to launch its Terran 1 rocket on Wednesday because of propellant temperature issues. The countdown for the inaugural launch of the rocket got down to T-70 seconds before aborting for what the company said was liquid oxygen temperatures in the rocket's second stage that were out of limits. The company reset the countdown but scrubbed for the day a short time later, again citing "propellant thermal conditions" on the upper stage. Relativity has rescheduled the launch for Saturday in a three-hour window that opens at 1 p.m. Eastern. The launch is a key test of the company's 3D-printing technology, which manufactured 85% of the Terran 1 small launch vehicle.
