SpaceX launched a GPS satellite Jan. 18. A Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 7:24 am EST (1224 GMT) carrying the GPS 3 SV06 spacecraft. The spacecraft deployed from the upper stage about an hour and a half after liftoff. The launch was SpaceX's second national security space launch in less than four days, and its fifth launch of a GPS satellite. The next GPS 3 satellite will launch on a United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket next year.
