The Japanese space agency JAXA has set a date for the first launch of the H3 rocket. JAXA said Friday that the inaugural launch of the H3 is scheduled for Feb. 12 from the Tanegashima Space Center, at the start of a launch period that runs through the end of February. The H3 will carry the ALOS-3 Earth science satellite on that long-anticipated launch.
