China launches SAR satelite
Posted: Sat, Jan 29, 2022, 10:19 AM ET (1519 GMT) China launched a civilian radar-imaging satellite Tuesday. A Long March 4C rocket lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 6:44 pm EST (2344 GMT) and placed the Gongjian Ludi Tance-1 01A, or L-SAR 01A, satellite into orbit. The spacecraft has an L-band synthetic aperture radar imaging payload that will be used for civilian applications such as disaster response.
