Rocket Lab launches 10 smallsats

Electron launch of In Focus mission, October 2020 (Rocket Lab) Rocket Lab successfully launched 10 smallsats Wednesday. The company's Electron rocket lifted off from its New Zealand launch site at 5:21 pm EDT (2121 GMT) and deployed the 10 satellites about an hour later. Nine of the satellites are SuperDove imaging cubesats for Planet, while the tenth is a larger imaging microsatellite built by Canon Electronics. The launch was the sixth commercial launch this month licensed by the FAA, a new record for the agency.
