Administration still developing revised budget for 2024 Moon plan
Posted: Sun, May 12, 2019, 10:54 AM ET (1454 GMT)
NASA said at a House hearing Wednesday the administration is still one to two weeks away from providing a revised budget proposal for the new lunar initiative. That budget amendment, intended to reflect the new goal of landing humans on the moon in 2024, was expected last month, but agency officials testified that NASA is still working with the White House, including the Office of Management and Budget, on the plan, and declined to discuss specific numbers. Many members of the committee expressed frustration with the delays, and warned against any plans that might take funding away from other NASA programs or other agencies, as well as the use of "creative bookkeeping," to pay for the new initiative.
