X Prize Foundation revives lunar prize competition

SpaceIL lander concept, Oct 2015 (SpaceIL) The X Prize Foundation is bringing back a lunar prize competition, although without any prize money for now. The foundation said Thursday it would restart a Lunar X Prize competition days after the original Google Lunar X Prize expired without a winner. Details about the competition will be developed in the coming months. The competition offers a "non-cash" prize for now, but the foundation is seeking a new title sponsor to provide a prize purse. Several teams that were competing in the original competition said they were interested in being involved in the new one.
