Stratolaunch aircraft taxi test (Stratolaunch) Stratolaunch's giant aircraft is one step closer to its first flight after a new round of taxi tests. The company said Monday that it performed taxi tests of the airplane at the Mojave Air and Space Port in California, reaching top speeds of nearly 75 kilometers per hour. The company performed an earlier series of such tests in December, at lower speeds. Stratolaunch has not disclosed a schedule for upcoming tests, or a first flight of the plane, which will eventually serve as an air-launch platform.
