Poor weather postpones Soyuz landing
Posted: Fri, Mar 15, 2013, 8:03 AM ET (1203 GMT)
The return of three ISS crewmembers on a Soyuz rocket has been delayed by a day because of poor weather at the landing site in Kazakhstan. The Soyuz TMA-06M spacecraft was to undock Thursday evening from the ISS and land in Kazakhstan a few hours later, returning NASA astronaut Kevin Ford and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Yevgeny Tarelkin. However, mission controllers scrubbed the landing because of a winter storm that grounded the fleet of helicopters used to support the recovery of the crew. Undocking is now planned for 7:43 pm EDT (2343 GMT) Friday, with landing in Kazakhstan at 11:06 pm EDT Friday (0306 GMT Saturday).
