Enterprise display damaged by hurricane

Enteprise after hurricane damaged tent (CBS New York) A pressurized "bubble" that housed the space shuttle Enterprise at a New York museum deflated during Hurricane Sandy Monday night, and the shuttle itself appear to sustain minor damage. Photos on Tuesday showed that the inflated fabric tent erected on the deck of the aircraft carrier-turned-museum Intrepid, within which Enterprise is housed, had collapsed, exposing part of the shuttle to the elements. The photos also appeared to show a small piece missing from the top of the shuttle's tail. Museum officials said that the tent deflated after flooding Monday night causes power generators to fail, but gave no timeline for repairing the tent. Enterprise has been on the Intrepid since June, and the tent, intended to be a temporary home until a permanent facility is built nearby, opened in July.
