Astronauts arrive in Florida for final shuttle launch

STS-135: crew arrives at KSC (NASA/KSC) The crew of the final space shuttle mission arrived in Florida on Monday as the countdown towards Friday's launch is slated to begin Tuesday afternoon. Astronauts Chris Ferguson, Doug Hurley, Sandra Magnus, and Rex Walheim arrived at the Kennedy Space Center on Monday afternoon and spoke briefly with the media. The four are set to launch on space shuttle Atlantis at 11:26 am EDT (1526 GMT) Friday on STS-135, the final mission of the space shuttle program. The countdown for the launch will formally begin at 1 pm EDT (1700 GMT) Tuesday.
