Russia launches progress spacecraft

Progress M-11M launch (Roscosmos) A Soyuz rocket launches a new cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station on Tuesday. The Soyuz rocket lifted off from Baikonur at 10:38 am EDT (1438 GMT) and placed the Progress M-11M spacecraft into orbit. The spacecraft, carrying nearly three tons of food, water, propellant, and other supplies, will dock with the ISS at 12:37 pm EDT (1637 GMT) Thursday. The Progress will dock to the same port on the ISS that the European ATV-2 cargo spacecraft undocked from on Monday; that spacecraft burned up in the Earth's atmosphere on Tuesday.
