Progress docks with ISS
Posted: Sat, Apr 30, 2011, 11:45 AM ET (1545 GMT)
Progress M-10M approaching ISS (NASA) A Progress cargo spacecraft docked with the International Space Station on Friday morning, carrying a fresh load of supplies to the station. The Progress M-10M spacecraft docked automatically with the Pirs module of the ISS at 10:29 am EDT (1429 GMT) on Friday. The Progress is carrying 2.6 tons of food, water, propellant, and other supplies for the station. Time-sensitive experiments that the Progress is carrying forced NASA to push back the scheduled launch of Endeavour on STS-134 by ten days to avoid docking conflicts at the station. A successful docking Friday was also required to permit launch preparations for the shuttle Endeavour to continue, although that launch was scrubbed a couple hours after docking because of technical issues with the orbiter.
