SpaceX raises $50 million
Posted: Wed, Nov 10, 2010, 7:03 AM ET (1203 GMT) Commercial launch vehicle developer SpaceX has raised an additional $50 million as it prepares for the launch of its first Dragon spacecraft. The company reported the additional investment in a regulatory filing Tuesday, with company officials saying that it raised the money from existing investors. SpaceX is currently working to launch the first of three demonstration missions of its Dragon spacecraft on a Falcon 9 as part of its Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) award from NASA. That launch, previously planned for this month, has been pushed back to no earlier than December 7 to both allow for additional testing as well as to accommodate shifting dates for other launches from Cape Canaveral.
