| China launches navigation satellite Posted: Tue, Nov 2, 2010, 9:08 AM ET (1308 GMT)  China launched early Monday the latest in a series of navigation satellites.  The Long March 3C carrying a Beidou satellite lifted off from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China at 12:26 pm EDT Sunday (1626 GMT Sunday, 12:26 am Beijing time Monday).  The satellite is the sixth in a series of spacecraft designed initially to provide navigation services in the Asia-Pacific region, later to be expanded globally.  The launch was the 12th this year by China, a new record.
