Bad weather delays shuttle landing
Posted: Thu, Sep 10, 2009, 10:19 PM ET (0219 GMT)
STS-128: logo (NASA) Poor weather at the Kennedy Space Center forced NASA to keep the space shuttle Discovery in orbit an additional day Thursday. Discovery had two opportunities to land at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility, but clouds and strong winds were out of limits, forcing NASA to keep the shuttle in orbit for an additional day. Discovery has two landing opportunities at KSC at 5:48 and 7:23 pm EDT (2148 and 2323 GMT) Friday; NASA didn't indicate if they would attempt a landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California if weather remained unacceptable at KSC, as is currently forecast.
