Space tourist plans global entertainment event

Laliberte, Guy (Cirque du Soleil) The Canadian performance artist who will be flying to the ISS at the end of this month, announced plans this week for a global entertainment event he will orchestrate from the station. Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil, announced plans for "Moving Stars and Earth for Water", a two-hour event on October 9th that he will participate in from the station, with other events featuring major entertainers and celebrities taking place in 14 cities around the world. The purpose of the event, part of Laliberté's "Poetic Social Mission", is to raise awareness about the importance of access to clean water. Laliberté has been training in Russia for his flight for the last few months.
