A Soyuz spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station on Friday, increasing the size of its permanent crew to six for the first time. The Soyuz TMA-15 spacecraft docked with the nadir port on the Zarya module of the ISS at 8:34 am EDT (1234 GMT), and hatches between the station and Soyuz opened about 100 minutes later. On board the Soyuz was Russian cosmonaut Roman Romanenko, ESA astronaut Frank De Winne, and Canadian astronaut Bob Thirsk. The three join Gennady Padalka, Michael Barratt, and Koichi Wakata as the first six-person crew in the history of the ISS.
