NASA inspector general resigns
Posted: Fri, Apr 3, 2009, 7:13 AM ET (1113 GMT)
NASA NASA inspector general Robert Cobb, who had attracted controversy and criticism from members of Congress, announced Thursday that he will resign from the space agency. Cobb said in a letter to President Obama that he will resign from the space agency effective April 11, but did not discuss the reason for stepping down. Cobb, who has been the inspector general since 2002, had faced calls for his resignation from members of Congress since 2007 because of an apparent lack of independence from top agency officials as well as ineffective investigations.
