Sea Launch, Intelsat sign multi-launch agreement
Posted: Sat, Nov 22, 2008, 3:31 PM ET (2031 GMT)
Zenit-3SL launch of Galaxy 19 (Sea Launch) Communications satellite operator Intelsat signed an agreement this week with Sea Launch for the launch of five spacecraft in the coming years. The agreement, announced Thursday, covers the launch of five satellites as yet unidentified from late 2010 through 2012. Terms of the agreement were not announced. Intelsat has been a major customer of Sea Launch over the years, including the launches of Galaxy 18 and 19 this year. The agreement is similar to the multi-launch agreements SES announced last year with Arianespace and ILS, although those agreements included mutual backup provisions missing from the Intelsat-Sea Launch agreement.
