Endeavour docks with ISS

STS-126: shuttle docking with ISS (NASA) The space shuttle Endeavour docked with the International Space Station as planned Sunday afternoon. Endeavour docked with the Harmony node of the station at 5:01 pm EST (2201 GMT), with hatches between the shuttle and station scheduled to open a little over 90 minutes later. An inspection of the orbiter during its approach to the station revealed no initial signs of damage to the orbiter's underside, although photos taken during approach will be studied over the next day to confirm that assessment. The docking begins nearly 11 days of work on the station, including four spacewalks, the first of which is scheduled for Tuesday. The STS-126 crew will also transfer several tons of cargo from the shuttle to the station to help outfit the station for future six-person crews.
