A new US Defense Department report recommends a increased use of space, as well as measured to deny access to space future enemies. The Quadrennial Defense Review concluded that the US military should enhance its space-based communications and surveillance capabilities, and also take measures to both protect its own spacecraft from future adversaries and also prevent them from using space themselves. The report was published at around the same time the Air Force consolidated its space efforts into one command by putting the Space and Missile Systems Center under the control of the Air Force Space Command... A new Martian meteorite has been found on Earth, scientists reported at a recent conference. The meteorite, designated NWA 856, was discovered in February in the Sahara Desert in Morocco. The discovery brings the total number of such meteorites, also known as SNC meteorites, to 19.
