NASA names new exploration chief, Stennis director

NASA NASA announced on Friday that the current director of NASA's Stennis Space Center will become the agency's associate administrator for exploration, and that a former astronaut will take over at Stennis. Richard J. Gilbrech, the current Stennis director, will become the head of NASA's exploration efforts, taking the place of Scott Horowitz, who is leaving the agency in October. Gilbrech became Stennis director in 2006, and previously served as deputy director of the Langley Research Center. Gilbrech will be replaced at Stennis by Robert Cabana, a former astronaut who currently works as deputy director of the Johnson Space Center.
