Sea Launch delays flight again
Posted: Mon, Feb 13, 2006, 6:48 AM ET (1148 GMT)
Zenit 3SL launch of Galaxy 13 (Sea Launch) Sea Launch has again delayed the launch of a direct broadcasting satellite on a Zenit 3SL because of unspecified problems. Sea Launch had planned to launch the EchoStar 10 satellite Sunday from its floating platform on the Equator in the Pacific Ocean, but delayed the launch at least two days. The multinational venture did not disclose the reason for the delay, but did state that both the satellite and launch vehicle are in good order. The launch had originally been scheduled for Wednesday but was delayed because of ground equipment problems. The launch, when it does occur, will be the first of six the company has planned for 2006; company officials said last week their launch manifest is full through the end of 2007.
