JSAT orders Lockheed Martin satellite

Lockheed Martin A2100 satellite illustration Lockheed Martin announced this week that Japanese satellite operator JSAT has ordered a new satellite from the company. Lockheed will build the JCSAT-11 satellite for JSAT under a contract announced on Monday. The satellite, a A2100AX model communications satellite, will feature a mix of high-power Ku-band transponders and medium-power C-band transponders. Terms of the contract were not announced, as is common in the industry. The satellite is the third Lockheed Martin ordered by JSAT in the last two years, after JCSAT-9 and 10, and is the fourth commercial communications satellite sold by Lockheed this year.
