Long March 4B launch (Xinhua) A Chinese Long March rocket successfully launched a remote sensing satellite Saturday morning. The Long March 4B lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 10:10 pm EST Friday (0310 GMT, 11:10 am Beijing time Saturday) and placed into orbit ZY-2C, the third in the series of Ziyuan-2 remote sensing satellites. The spacecraft will be used for a variety of earth observing uses, as well as "space scientific" experiments. This satellite is similar to ZY-2 satellites launched in 2000 and 2002, although this satellite has improved overall performance, according to Chinese media reports. The launch is the seventh this year for China.
