Posted: Tue, Jul 20, 2004, 6:43 PM ET (2243 GMT)
Orbital Science Corporation announced Tuesday increased revenues and profits in its fiscal second quarter. The company reported net income of $11.1 million on $177.7 million in the quarter ending June 30, compared to a net loss of $4.6 million on $158.2 million in the same quarter last year. Nearly all the revenue growth came from its satellite and related space systems, which saw revenues increase to $85.8 million from $68.8 million a year ago; launch vehicles revenue was largely unchanged. The increase in net income came from improved performance in its satellite and transportation management systems divisions.
