Orbital Sciences Corporation reported this week a profit for both the fourth quarter of 2003 as well as the entire year. The company reported operating income of $13.5 million in the quarter on $157.8 million in revenue, compared to $10.8 million in operating income on $160.7 million in revenue for the same quarter of 2002. For all of 2003 the company had operating income of $35.6 million on revenues of $581.5 million, compared to $29 million in operating income on $551.6 million in revenue for 2002. Increases in revenues for its launch vehicles and advanced systems division offset a small drop in its satellites and related space systems division and a larger decline in its transportation management systems division. The company said it forecasts revenues of $640-660 million for 2004, an increase of 10 percent from its previous forecast.
