Lockheed wins satellite order

Lockheed Martin A2100 satellite illustration Lockheed Martin announced Tuesday that it has won a contract for a commercial communications satellite from an unspecified customer. The company said it has signed a contract last week for an A2100-series GEO communications satellite. The identity of the customer was not revealed in the Lockheed press release; the company would only say that the name of the customer and other contract details would be announced at a later date. Lockheed has won contracts for four A2100 satellites in addition to Tuesday's deal: two from SES Astra and one each from EchoStar and JCSAT.
