STS-107 patch (NASA) The Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB) announced Thursday that it will release its final report on the loss of the Columbia on Tuesday, August 26. The CAIB plans to hold a press conference in Washington at 11 am EDT (1500 GMT) Tuesday to discuss the contents of the report; the report will be posted on the board's web site one hour earlier. That had been rumors earlier in the week that the report could be delayed by a week or more, but Thursday's announcement made it clear the report would be issued next week as scheduled.
