Ariane 5 prior to flight 160 launch (Arianespace) A problem with one of the satellites scheduled to be launched on the next Ariane 5 has delayed its launch by several days, Arianespace announced this week. Arianespace did not specify which of the three satellites — Insat 3E, eBird, or SMART-1 — on the Ariane 5G booster that was scheduled for launch on the night of August 28. The launch has now been rescheduled for September 3. Insat 3E and eBird are communications satellites for ISRO and Eutelsat, respectively, while SMART-1 is an ESA technology demonstration spacecraft that is also ESA's first lunar mission.
