NASA names new Marshall director

David King (NASA/MSFC) NASA announced Friday that David King will become the director of the Marshall Space Flight Center next month. David King, a 20-year NASA veteran and current deputy director of Marshall, will become director on June 15. He will succeed Art Stephenson, who will step down to become a special assistant to the NASA associate administrator for education until he retires in January. King was involved in the Columbia accident investigation, going to Texas within hours of the accident to lead efforts to recover debris. King previously worked as director of shuttle processing operations at the Kennedy Space Center.
