Posted: Wed, Sep 18, 2002, 6:15 PM ET (2215 GMT)
TRW Northrop Grumman officials said Tuesday that their merger with TRW is on track for approval after submitting documentation with American and European regulators. The company said that it submitted filings last week to the US Justice Department and the European Commission providing the information those bodies need to give their regulatory approval to the merger. Both bodies now have 30 days to review the documentation and publish a finding. Northrop said the $7.8-billion merger should be completed some time in the fourth quarter this year.
